A tactical action game, Skull & Bones is set in an open world environment. It is based on a third person perspective in which player can take control of pirate captain that is customizable. A player can also select ship class depending on the style of play. From customizable pirate captain, in Skull & Bones, a player can sail on the Indian Ocean and set off on a campaign of five players or a single player and engage in combat in disputed waters.

To gain an advantage over enemies, you can take control of wind positioning. This lets you drop cannons on enemies. Throughout the game, you can collect additional ships such as frigates, brigantines, sloops of war with weapons including rockets, mortars and broadside cannons.

To enjoy the plenty of loot in multi – player mode, Loot Hunt lets further accumulation of wealth by challenging in treasure hunting. The game will allow players to assemble an online crew and vie in 5 v 5 battles with rival pirates. In the challenge, the first team to hunt down treasure gains the most riches. To get a better look, the player can climb the crow’s nest and use a spyglass. The health bar shows the rate of damage in ships.
